I had a blowout when i stretched my ears ...?

It just wouldn't stretch to 10mm, i simply would not budge. It was definitely a blowout, but it's been a year now since i took my stretcher out completely, seeing as i've let it heal and it was back to the original piercing size (i actually had to slightly re pierce it!) could it stretch past 10 this time if i take it really slow? thanks!
