Can i stretch my ear one week after its pierced?

I pierced my other ear first one I stretched after a week going back 6 months ago, I have no problems with it just pain was bad the first time i did it, the stretcher i use at the start is so small and im talking tiny, I just put it in and hurt a bit, is it bad to do it tho?
