Preparing to stretch your ear?

I stretched my ear 2mm at a time and now im 18mm so its fine putting a 2mm straight in it. Definitely make sure you wash it before and around your ear every day when after youve put it in. If your having trouble getting it in can i suggest rubbing vasaline on it, thats what i do :)
