What is the appropriate "transformer" needed?

I don't know that China has consistent standards. Some cellphone chargers are rated 100 to 250 volts 50 to 60 hertz and have considerable protection from power line surges. These are switching power supplies. Possibly units are available which provide what you want, regardless of the input specs (within reasonable limits) and can run multiple devices. Neil
