Ear stretching problems! :]?

about 2 weeks ago, i stretched my ear from a normal piercing to 2.5mm, it wasn't sore and it healed quite quickly, today i put a 4mm stretcher in and it was quite sore, i must have rushed into it! the 4mm stretcher that i've got in now is metal and quite heavy so i went to put a 4mm tunnel in, this was about 2 hours after it being stretched. i couldn't get the stretcher out, but i didn't think 'just leave it, so i pulled it out (which was extremely painful!) and it started bleeding! the hole seemed a lot smaller when i finally got it out and i couldn't get the tunnel in, so i put my stretcher back in (which was also extremely painful!) and now it's quite sore and swollen, i don't want to take it out because i can't be bothered with the whole healing process, then stretching it again, is there anyway i can get rid of the swelling and lose a bit of the pain, just until it's healed? :]
